Returning to the villa, Lu Huai retrieved a large bag from the trunk. As he passed the living room, his footsteps paused.
His gaze swept indifferently over the two bodies on the floor before he continued upstairs.
"Wen Nannan."
Wen Nannan was sitting on the sofa, her eyes vacant and motionless. She hadn't changed her posture since coming upstairs.
"Wen Nannan," Lu Huai called again.
Finally, realizing who had returned, Wen Nannan rushed over, crying and throwing her arms around Lu Huai. The fear and terror she had bottled up for so long finally erupted.
"Brother Lu, I killed someone!"
Lu Huai's hand, which was about to push Wen Nannan away, froze. He let her hug him and cry for a while.
"Alright," Lu Huai patted her back, "Were those two the ones who were targeting us before?"
"Mhm," Wen Nannan nodded, wiping her tears on Lu Huai's clothes.
Lu Huai frowned slightly at her actions, "So you regret killing them now?"
