After bringing the car to a slow halt, Giovanni hesitantly glanced out his open window at his familiar surroundings. His gaze landed upon the weathered walls of the old warehouse that he had not seen in a while. The paint had faded, revealing the worn wood panels that had borne witness to his exploits.
The scent of gasoline and oil hung in the air, reminding him of the countless hours he had spent here, plotting and executing daring heists with his trusted, or what he thought was trusted, crew. But that was a distant memory now, a past life that seemed to belong to someone else. Now that he was shown things from actual magic, reapers and distant planets in his universe, he could not even fathom the man he was back then. Ignorant to everything else happening around him.
