Bab 18: Chapter Seventeen: Guide To Explicit Pleasure

Ciara's POV

Vulcan's eyes flashed with anger. "Are you defying me? Didn't I give you something to wear?"

I swallowed hard, lowering my gaze. "I'm sorry, but I'm not comfortable wearing that. It's too revealing - I might as well be naked." I rubbed my arms, feigning being cold.

He scrutinized me, his jaw clenching as he fought to control his temper. Then, his tone softened, though he still wouldn't look at me. "And your hair?"

Remembering his instructions, I quickly gathered my hair into an updo. "There, it's done."

With a curt nod, he turned and strode away, forcing me to hurry to keep up. We ended up at a popular club I had frequented. My heart sank - I feared someone might recognize me.

Thankfully, no one seemed to notice my presence as we made our way inside and found a table. We sat in an uneasy silence.

Vulcan leaned in, raising his voice over the pounding music. "Drink? What would you like?"
