Bab 32: INDIFFERENT TO MY GROWTH!!!..

Tamara is currently pacing about in her room a bit nervously, Her Counsel has used her vacation days as an excuse to go about with a very dangerous meeting on her behalf and it's nerve wrecking not being in control of well,.. everything.
Although she has received confirmation that everything is alright through an artifact she still cannot calm her racing heart down but she cannot really be blamed for her reactions as this is the first time she has ever dared on going through such a shady business with looming dread of its consequences.
A thousand and one possibilities of it all going wrong was running through her head but soon, her ring glows as she receives a new message. Her Counsel is finally back within her Palace walls.
A sigh if deep relief breaks through her mouth as she finally finds herself stable enough to go and sit on a nearby white couch with a leg stool.
Closing her eyes for a few seconds to regain her bearing, Tamara reopens them while not at all surprised to see her Counsel standing only a few feet away with a closing portal behind her.
"Greetings Your Eminence,.. I hope my absence wasn't a nuisance to you.", Counsel Lea calmly greets her master with her head bowed in respect.
Tamara does not bother with a reply as she silently rubs her ring to activate a additional secret array in her room.
She knows there are tens of watchful gazes of both hidden guards and maids in her radius and although there's always a passive array activated to blocks their senses off, Tamara does not have much trust in the passive systems.
It can be easily bypassed by the right people with enough power but the one she has just activated puts her mind to ease is at the peak levels and solely under her control.
It costs her a bit to activate this other array even per second though considering her status and wealth, the price isn't anything that will shake the current her unless she overuses it.
"You needed the break.", Consort Tamara responds as her Counsel raises her head up while looking calmly at Tamara.
"It's safe now.", Tamara informs her Counsel and most trusted subordinate who nods back in respect as she pushes through her role as the messager-woman to her master in order to complete the distant meeting.
"Those people are dar. I still did not get to know who they are or pick up any useful aura but they are shady yet very confident in their powers and resources..
"They want to help the princess but not without consequences. They want something in return and I doubt it's something that's on the scale if a minor favour.", Counsel Lea reports.
Tamara face ranges through different emotions as she listens to her Counsel words. She has already considered the possibility of every thing her Counsel just reported but it still does not make it any easier for her to take in.
"Did they tell you what they want in particular?.", Tamara asks with her Imperial bearings back to play.
"They've said nothing. Though they made it crystal clear that it wouldn't be a light-weight request. They brought along with them a high-level antique so it's safe to say that wealth is not their goal. They are aiming much higher and Seflim seems to be their only available ramp.". – Counsel Lea states while adding her own opinions to her report.
"So we have no name, no specific intentions, no grounds for negotiations and yet they want us to make a choice!.", Tamara chuckles coldly as she leans forward a bit with her brown eyes holding up her amusement.
"They don't want you to make a choice.", Counsel Lea says while causing Tamara to look up at her face in confusion to her words.
"..Infact, they seem quite confident that you would reject them right now.", Counsel Lea informs the confused Tamara.
"Then why did they go through such lengths to request a meeting.", Tamara questions her Counsel who obviously has a solid opinion on this matter.
"Their main purpose for the meeting seems to inform you of their intentions and also give you this.", Counsel Lea says as she pulls our a small Scarlet shaded crystal from seemingly nowhere.
The crystal she pulls out lightly floats to Tamara's grasp but Tamara does not directly touch it out of caution as she just kept it levitating above her palm.
"They are narcissist enough to believe that you will be forced to contact them by your own will in the future.", Consort Lea says as Tamara lightly raises a brow without speaking.
"Their words are.. 'Fifteen years. You have the time span of fifteen years to make a decision as we are not in a hurry.. The sooner you make your decision the better because anything above fifteen years would be too late. Tell your master to input her aura in the crystal when she realises how much she needs us.'.", Counsel Lea calmly repeats their words while internally feeling boundless anger as she remembers the calm but smug tone in the man's voice as he told her those words.
Hearing these words, Consort Tamara sucks her lips in a blend of spite and self anger at their seemingly unchanging reality.
Is their situation really so much in a disadvantage that even a bunch of high-level shady creeps would confidently throw their card at her face?!.
Tamara is very wealthy and based on her ongoing investments, she's only going to get wealthier.
She's already pulling certain ambassador's of the court to her side and she's gaining network fast among the middle levelled organisations.
Tamara is doing every thing she possibly can from planting her own spies to gaining network on the military and slowly forming bonds with influential and powerful Cultivators and yet,.. YET!!!..
No one still seems to take any of Tamara's attempts seriously!.
It is like they are all so blind to the power she's amasing and indifferent to her daughter's extraordinary potential!.
Truly, Tamara may not have much now but what about in the next decade?!.
What about in the next two decades?!. Just how much power do the people think the Empress and her backing have to look down on her own so much?!.
And talking bout' the Empress, Goddess.. the Empress!.
Although Tamara has never interacted with her, she's already beginning to develop a strong hatred for the Empress's guts!.
This woman is quietly watching her scramble for power with the clear intentions of competing with hers and yet.. Tamara stays completely quiet!.
Sometimes, Tamara cannot help but feel that the Empress is watching her moves in amusement of how far she would go.
Just how much power must the Empress have for her to be completely indifferent to the magnitude of the power she(Tamara) is amasing.
Clenching the crystal in her hand between her fingers, Tamara face turns cold as ice.
She hates being looked at with indifference!..
She would rather die than watch people look at her children with indifference or scorn!.
Without much change in her cold expression, Tamara tosses the crystal into her personal dimensional secure storage vault as she turns to face her Counsel once more.
With a sigh to swallow down her anger, she says..
"She got invited.", Tamara says declares.
