If he walked down further, he would bump into Freida, and unless he went off to bother the lady, Clint was just gone.

Lake was almost worried for a moment that he had hallucinated the Alpha.

He didn't wait to see if Clint would return, snagging up his bag and hot-footing it out of the park.

Lake had already spent far longer than he planned to at the park, forgetting to get himself earphones from how his day went.

He didn't remember until he had gotten back to his apartment, and there was nothing else to do but leave it till the next day.
