"Valerie. Can you stop crying?" her mom was now getting bored of all the drama she was creating, "it's your mistake. Why would I hire a cleaning lady in this small house?"

"This is your house! How can a lady come here uninvited and make it upstairs?" she retorted angrily, wiping her nose.

The loss of heirlooms had almost given her a heart attack.

"It was just a piece of jewelry, and we care for you more than that. At least you're safe!" her father tried to calm her. 

Valerie knew her parents better. They hated noise and chaos.

"Every piece of jewelry in that pouch was more expensive than you and your daughter Marissa!" she lashed out in anger.

"You are crossing the line, young lady," her father warned her, standing up from the mattress. They hadn't even finished their morning coffee when they heard her painful screams from the attic.

When they came up running. They found her sitting on the floor, crying loudly.
