Bab 241: Reaching Ohio

They continued their walk, passing by crews of mechanics, each deeply involved in maintaining these powerful war machines. The air smelled faintly of oil, fuel, and something faintly metallic, possibly the residue of Aetheric energy being funneled through the warship.

Tracy led Lucius toward a final section of the hangar where smaller, but equally lethal, machines were housed. These were the Drake-Class Assault Hovercrafts, sleek, agile, and deadly. 

The Drakes hovered just above the hangar floor, their anti-gravity engines emitting a low hum. Their sharp, predatory design resembled a hybrid between an armored vehicle and an aircraft, outfitted with plasma turrets and missile pods.

"Drake-Class Assault Hovercrafts," Tracy announced proudly. "These are for hit-and-run attacks. They're fast, almost impossible to track on radar, and can take out ground targets before the enemy even knows they're there."
