Matthew's preseason was going perfectly. He had impressed in every game, scoring crucial goals and forming a deadly attacking trio with Rashford and Fernandes. The final preseason match against Tottenham Hotspur was supposed to be the icing on the cake, a chance to fine-tune their skills before the season opener.

He tried to shake it off, thinking it was just a minor tweak, but the pain only intensified. He signaled to the bench, and the medical staff rushed onto the pitch, concern etched on their faces.

After a quick assessment, the team doctor delivered the verdict: a grade-one hamstring strain, requiring two weeks of rest and rehabilitation. Matthew's face fell, knowing his debut would be delayed. He had worked so hard to earn his place, and now fate had dealt him a setback.
