"I didn't know you would come here"

Enzo remarked, his face marked with confusion. Catarina quickly rushed to her husband, offering him a glass of water, her movements hurried and attentive. Meanwhile, Vio sat at the dining table, deliberately avoiding any acknowledgment of Enzo's presence.

"Ah, sorry for the unannounced visit, Sir!" Lav replied, her tone apologetic. "The contract needs to be signed urgently. My boss insisted I get it done as quickly as possible, so he gave me the address and told me to rush. That's why I'm here" she explained, lying effortlessly.

The so-called boss of the convenience store was nothing more than a figment of Lavanya's imagination. The only person pulling the strings was Lavanya Irvine herself. "You could have called me first!" Enzo's voice was laced with doubt as he analyzed everyone.
