Aurora smiled graciously, accepting the flattery from the surrounding nobles. Her smile particularly widened at the last remark, her eyes twinkling in satisfaction.

Indeed, she was a good wife of the emperor, who was her husband only.

'The toast was the right step.' She thought, glancing toward the throne where the emperor sat and the empress's seat were empty.

'The drug should be taking effect soon.' Her lips were tempted to switch to a smirk, desiring about that woman's downfall.

''Come to think your highness, her majesty's gown is quite similar to yours, especially the neckline.'' One of the noble madams spoke thoughtlessly, unaware that her words would darken Aurora's mood.
