Bab 40: Lost the trail

Karina hurried towards Leticia's room, concern etched on her face. It was already dinner time, and Leticia had missed lunch. When she entered the room, she called out, "Miss? Are you in the bathroom?"

The silence that followed made her frown. She checked the bathroom, but Leticia was nowhere to be found. Perplexed, Karina wondered where she could be. She thought maybe Leticia was in the library, immersed in a book as usual.

As Karina entered the library, another maid accidentally bumped into her. "Excuse me," the maid apologized, before Karina quickly asked, "Have you seen Lady Leticia?"

The maid's expression turned thoughtful. "Not since this morning. She went into the garden, but I didn't see her come out."

Karina's eyes widened in concern. "Okay, thanks." Her mind raced with possibilities. Where could Leticia be?
