Su Yunjin felt a twinge of guilt, worried that her mother might have seen what she and Gu Yan had been doing in the kitchen. She hurriedly said, "Mother, it's nothing! I was just tasting the rice wine in the kitchen."

"So, Yunjinniang, you've had some wine?" Mrs. Shen's brow furrowed instantly, "Yunjinniang, how could you drink wine? That is something for men, what business does a woman have drinking wine?"
