Bab 163: Fragments of the Past (10) – Perverse Opportunities

Kizaer sat outside Director Sinon Ling's office, waiting for the order to enter. After a few minutes, the door opened, and Professor Marcus stepped out, closing it behind him. He looked at Kizaer, who raised his face and met the professor's stern gaze.

"Just be honest with the director about what's going on, and he'll understand. I've already given my version of what I've observed about you, young man, but that doesn't mean I'm supporting or favouring your decisions," Professor Marcus's severe voice echoed down the corridor.

"You need to learn to control yourself. A cultivator who can't separate personal issues and redirect blame to the true culprits won't get very far." With that, Professor Marcus left without saying anything more.

Kizaer watched him go, his expression still indifferent and distant. After a few seconds, he lowered his head and thought to himself, 'Right… He probably thinks I did what I did because of the provocations.'
