Bab 216: I was caught

I began to assess my surroundings with newfound clarity. The room was sparse but elegant, with heavy curtains that blocked out most of the light and a few pieces of ornate furniture scattered around. There were no obvious weapons or tools I could use, but I'd have to make do with whatever I could find.

The door seemed like the most straightforward exit, but Thalira wasn't a fool. She would have set traps. I noticed a subtle shimmer on the floor near the doorway, a telltale sign of magical wards.

The window was another option, but as my eyes trailed over to it, I noticed the same faint glow along the edges of the frame. A magical barrier, likely designed to prevent any kind of escape or communication.

The system chimed again, almost as if reading my thoughts.
