Bab 29: I'm always watching

My heart pounded as I stood in the doorway, trying to process the shock of finding Lise in my room. Her red eyes met mine, a flicker of amusement dancing in them as she held my gaze with an intensity that made it hard to look away.

"You see, thanks to me, you have a luxeous room," she began, her voice smooth and confident.

She rose from the bed and started to move around the room, her fingers brushing over the various precious objects scattered about—items I hadn't even noticed before. Her touch was light, almost reverent, as if she were inspecting her own handiwork. Each movement was deliberate, her eyes never leaving mine.

"I don't want to pressure you," she continued, her tone deceptively casual, "but I'd appreciate it if you could repay the 100,000 gold coin for the room before the end of the year."
