Little Wind Spinner spun in my hand for a while before I hastily stashed it away, feeling embarrassed, and was just pondering whether to say something to break the awkward silence when I looked up and saw Old Man Hui utterly astonished, bursting into laughter as he said:
"What a rare talent, truly a rare talent."
I was a bit puzzled. What did he mean by that?
Rare talent?
Was he making fun of me?
Old Man Hui pulled Old Granny Bai over, and both of them, upon seeing the spinner, were overjoyed. They held hands and spun around in circles, and I gotta say...
It was rather childlike and sweet.
Once Old Granny Bai had twirled enough, she turned to me excitedly and said:
"Girl, you have no idea. In The Degenerate Age, humans have long lost the ability to cultivate; they all resort to crooked paths. Don't underestimate that little spin in your hand. This is the beginning, your beginning! It's fantastic! Truly wonderful! I never thought I'd live to see this day!"
My beginning?
