Bab 46: The Leader of the Grunts

"Quiet."

A single command could be heard by every grunt in the dome. It was not loud, nor even a whisper, but it cut through their thoughts and silenced them instantly.

When they "heard" that command, all the grunts immediately shut their mouths, unable to speak. It was as if they had no control over their mouths, and panic spread through the ranks.

Even Grunt No. 704, No. 702, No. 711, and No. 727—All four them were shocked, their mouths suddenly closed tight, unable to open them. They were all confused and panicked as well. But then... all of them, including the rest of the grunts, realized the source of the command: their leader, Lord Max Brain.

They all looked at their leader, who had been standing on the stage, but... his kind and charismatic smile was gone... replaced by a simple frown of disapproval.
