"Trust me, Miles is preoccupied with what happened today. I'm sure he will want to strike back at the Sharks' Clan for putting his son in danger. He won't be thinking of us now. I guess Sasha already has a plan of retaliation formed together with Miles. We are probably the last thing in their minds now."

"Okay." He exhales shakily. "You're probably right."

"I know I am." I reach out and touch his cheek. I'm glad when he doesn't wince or move away. "Come to my room tonight."

Uneasiness shifts through him. I can tell from the way his eyes flicker. "I don't think that's a good idea. It's too risky. This was already a mistake."

"Why?" I frown. "We are adults, Wesley. We can have sex if we want. I don't think that will interfere with your job in any way."

"You and I both know that Miles won't see it like that. If he catches me sleeping with you, I'm sure that he will fire me."

I snicker. "Then I'll just hire you again."
