Bab 3: Pidgey
After exiting his Sub-space, Alex was back on the couch again. There were two ways he could earn money, Being a trainer or working part-time jobs.
As for being a trainer before becoming 16, you wouldn't be allowed to take on the gym challenge or any official tournaments. But challenging regular trainers on the route for prize money was a way a trainer could survive.
Alex's problem was that the only Pokemon he had as of now was a Caterpie, with all of Caterpie's stats being only 1, He had zero to no chance of victory.
Before he entered the world of Pokemon battles, He would have to make extensive training with Caterpie. Teaching the Pokemon all the things he could do in the battle. There was the String Shot swinging idea that he had been seeing in Fanfictions all the time, Yes Alex planned to use them to his advantage.
Then after some battles with Caterpie, He would then proceed to catch another Pokemon, A Pidgey would be the greatest choice.
For now, Alex had only one thing to worry about, Pokemon Food.
While human food, clothing and the others were expensive in the world where he came from, They were relatively cheap over here compared to anything affiliated with Pokemon.
Alex already decided to take Caterpie to Pallet Forest every day to chomp on leaves since that was one of the only foods it needed at this time, but he still needed a recipe like how he read in Fanfics which were packed with nutrients and vitamins which would help with the substantial growth of Caterpie, this might also lead to Caterpie unlocking it's egg move: Bug Bite early on.
He had finished exploring everything the System had to offer right down to the latter and learned to get the good stuff, He needed money- Not only Gold but he also needed Pokedollars.

A month had already passed and Alex had gotten used to his life in the new world he was in. He had decided to get a Part-time job as a waiter in Starlight Restaurant, the only restaurant in Pallet Town.
Alex had to admit, for a small town, here were a lot of people crowding in that place and each of them were paying customers.
He hadn't gotten close to her yet since they were far apart, She was the manager and he was just another waiter… But Alex planned for it, He would start by befriending Ash.
Alex stood in the Pallet Forest and watched over Caterpie while using his Appraisal Skill, The only population of Pokemon in the Pallet Forest were Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree, Weedle, Kakuna and some few Pidgey.
It wasn't really dangerous as their Population was being controlled by Professor Oak himself, which in short meant that Professor Oak exterminated the Beedrills. Alex was grateful for that, There were no other aggressive Pokemon in the forest and that meant it was relatively safe to walk around without the fear of being assaulted unless you did something to anger the Pokemon.
Caterpie chewed on the leaves slowly as it garnered it's nutrients while Alex patted his pockets, He was a part-time worker at Starlight Restaurant.
His shift was only for 3 hours every day and he was paid per hour, 10 Pokedollars per hour.
It didn't sound pleasing to the ear but it was actually high pay for a mere Waiter, 10 Pokedollars would be enough for Alex to buy a carton of noodles.

It might look easy to level up in the games but it differed in real life, throughout the entire month, Caterpie had not gotten into a single Pokemon battle on Alex's order.
He wanted the Pokemon to focus more on gathering nutrients rather than participating in actual battles, He would give Caterpie that privilege when it reached LV. 6 as it would be stronger by then.
*PREE*
Alex swiftly returned Caterpie to it's Pokeball as he heard that cry, A Pidgey was descending rapidly.
A grin tugged on Alex's lips as he opened the portal into the Sub-space right on the rock where Pidgey was rapidly descending onto and as he expected, Pidgey got submerged within the portal and into his Subspace.
"Finally, After a month… A successful capture," Alex grinned.
He had not only been busy working but he had worked on his Subspace with tools he found in the attic section of the house. Alex had learned that if he planted a seed, it would sprout into a Berry shrub in 2 days and start producing.
Now the grassland area not only had grass and trees, but there was an abundance of Oran Berries. Alex would consider selling them but he would have to get to Viridian city first, and Route 1 had dangerous Pokemon.

Alex grinned; he had gotten a LV. 5 Pidgey right off the bat. There was a lot of room to improve and a lot more training to do.
He released Caterpie back onto the rock after closing the portal and the Pokemon continued munching away.

On his way to his house, Alex passed by the Oak residence. The first time Alex had passed by, He expected it to be a Big ass mansion but it turned out to be a simple house like his own.
Daisy was on the porch, her brown hair flowing in the wind as she scrolled through a book. Her eyes instinctively met his and she gave a small smile and then waved.
"Good afternoon," Daisy said and Alex nodded.
"Good afternoon," Alex exchanged.
Ever since they met in the forest, they had met in the forest occasionally. Daisy was already aware of the fact that he owned a Caterpie and she didn't find it disgusting in the least.
They had considered each other as friends and shared small chats in the Forest, that was how Alex knew about the Pokemon Academy located in an Island not too far from the Kanto region, It was where Young adults went to study for their careers.
Pokemon Geologist… Pokemon Stylist… Pokemon Breeder… Pokemon Instructor… all the courses for Pokemon were taught in this academy but they didn't teach you any trainer-based classes.
If you wanted to become a Pokemon trainer, no amount of theoretical classes would be enough to replace one day out in the Wild.
Alex actually had a favour to ask of Daisy, He observed that she made visits to Viridian City quite a lot and she had a powerful Nidoran with her.
He approached the Oak residence much to Daisy's surprise.
'He must want to talk,' Daisy thought with a light blush on her face.
Ever since she had met the handsome black haired boy lost in the forest, She had developed a light crush on him. Why? Who wouldn't want a boyfriend like that, Black spiky hair, deep azure eyes, a muscular figure and a calm and caring expression.
Her heart tightened as he stood in front of her while flashing a small smile.
"Daisy, can I ask you for a favour?" Alex asked.
