Josiah stood at arm's length from his father, watching as his father advanced towards the man with a raised shovel. He wanted to scream but was lost for words. Instead, he stood there immobile.

"Don't look," Mrs. Catherine came up behind him and closed his eyes, holding back her tears as she watched her husband rush towards the man, only to be sent flying by a wave, hitting his back against the wall.

"No," she muffled, trying not to wail out loud for her son to hear.

"Going somewhere?" the lady with red hair spoke, smiling broadly at them.

Mrs. Catherine shook her head and came to stand in front of Josiah, like a protective shield from the cold. "Please, leave," she warned, her eyes sharp as they stared back. Whatever they were, it didn't give them the right to cause trouble in her home.

Alba laughed, shaking her head in pity. "Do you not worry about Madeline?"
