Bab 22: Tests And Plans

'No, his face wouldn't be red if he was just faking this. Maybe something is wrong with the wine in his glass or maybe he's having an allergic reaction.', he thought as he continued to watch Liam who looked like he would pass out soon.

Just as he was about to call the staff, he saw the guy in front of him getting visibly better, the only weird thing about it was that he was sweating a bit too much.

"You alright?", he asked and Liam nodded before standing up from his chair.

He picked up the glass that still had some wine left in it before he gave it to Noah, "Drink it. I know that alcohol doesn't hit that fast but this just gave me a different feeling."

"You...", Noah said, frowning as he stared at the glass.

Liam shrugged, "I'm being serious right now. I want you to drink it because I feel like you tried to poison me."

Looking at Liam's straight face, Noah felt like he had no other choice. Nodding, he took the glass and was about to drink the wine when the glass directly flew out of his hand, smashing onto the floor and spilling the contents.

"Why would you do that?", he asked his girlfriend before he turned to look at the spilled wine.

"I wonder why she did that. I really wonder why.", Liam said as he stared at her for a few seconds before silently leaving the place.

Noah just sat on his chair, confused while his girlfriend sat in place silently.

"What did he mean by that?", he asked as he turned to look at her but when he saw the look on her face, he knew that he had to deal with another tantrum.

Liam walked out of the hotel and took a stroll outside until he found a small noodles stall. He bought a plate for himself and as he ate, he took out his phone and checked the various notifications he had gotten.

All of them were messages and when he checked the contents, he couldn't help but smile as he had received a few more avatar creation cards.

One of the messages brought him back to a sour mood.

'I knew it. I knew that I was poisoned but maybe it wasn't a fatal one and it also didn't last too long. I do want to confirm something but now is not the time. This hotel is not a safe place for me but I don't really want to spend time and money on moving to a different place right now.

The best thing I can do is to lock myself in my room and study for the exams like crazy. I'll get my meals whenever it's time and that should be good enough. Oh wait.. this idea should work like a charm and if it does, I'll be able to do something fun instead of just study.', he thought as he ate his fried noodles.

After eating his fill, he bought three servings to take back to his room as he did not want to look at the girl's face again for the time being. He hurried back to his room and once inside, he tossed all of his books on the bed before he began to search for each of the books' names.

He found a PDF version of some of the books but was unable to find a few others. Picking up all the books that he did not have a PDF form of, he walked out of his room and headed straight to a cyber cafe nearby.

He placed the books on the counter and looked at the guy who was staring at him, "Hey, I would like to make a PDF copy of these books."

"Hmm...each book will cost 500 rudo so that will be a total of 6000.", the guy said with a bored expression on his face.

Liam nodded and passed him the money, to which the guy replied with a short nod.

"Alright, come back tomorrow. This will take some time.", he said and Liam silently walked out.

He had a list of things to do and he had made the list while having his noodles.

"For now, I'll just sleep since it's already night time. But tomorrow, I'll go to the hospital and get some tests done since I want to confirm something."

Not having much to do, he went to sleep. The next day, the first thing he did was to go back to the internet cafe and get his stuff. Putting his books back in his room, he took a taxi to one of the hospitals nearby and as he was sitting in the car, he sent the files to his avatar's phone.

Once that was done, he switched to his avatar and then back to his main body so that his soul clone would know what he was thinking as just as he had expected, the clone that was in his avatar, cursed out loud as it opened up the pdf files.

'To think that he would find a way to make me study even when I'm not in his main body... this is just unfair. I want to have some fun too...'

Although he hated it, he couldn't deny the fact that it was an effective method.

'If I was in his place, I'd do the same... ahhh why did we have to be so lazy.'

Back in main body, Liam nodded to himself in satisfaction as he saw the "Fine, I'll study." message on his phone. He sat idly until he reached the hospital and once he was at his destination, he waited for his appointment, which came not long after.

"I just want a normal blood test. I simply want to know if it's safe for me to use serums.", he said as he sat in front of the doctor, who nodded silently as he picked up a syringe from one of the shelves beside him.
