Bab 9: CHAPTER-9: A LİTTLE STORY TWO

KANG DAE

I saw the ball coming towards me, and without letting it touch the ground, I jumped and made a straight shot towards the corner where the girl was. And yes, we scored. This time, the other members of the opposing team couldn't fill in for the girl's absence.

After the third set, we had a fifteen-minute break. We were ahead in sets; we had won two sets while they had won one. If we won the game we would play after the fifteen-minute break, the match would be over, and our team would win.

When we went to the locker room, I opened my locker and took out my water bottle from my sports bag. When I opened the cap to drink, I saw that it was empty. I needed to go out to the schoolyard to fill it up. After telling the team captain, I took my water bottle and went down the stairs. When I turned the corner at the end of the stairs, there was a long corridor. At the end of that corridor, there was a water fountain. As I approached the end of the stairs, I heard crying. I got closer, and looked at the reflection on the glass of the drink vending machine on the right side of the corridor. The girl who wasn't allowed to intervene with the ball earlier was crying. I thought about ignoring it and just passing by. But as I descended a few more steps, I heard another person's voice. This person was also a girl. She was kneeling on the hard concrete of the corridor and constantly saying something to the crying girl.

"I told you not to choose volleyball, didn't I? Huh! Why didn't you listen to me? Who do you think you are, Eun Hana? Answer me! Lift your face. Did you choose it just because Kang Doshik is on the team? Lift your face and answer me, you scum!"

Even though this matter didn't concern me, the thing I hate the most in life is disrespect. I can't tolerate disrespect to myself or anyone else. Really, they could stab me in fifty places and I wouldn't care. But they absolutely can't disrespect me.

As I reached the last step of the stairs, I turned my head to the left. Before I descended, I was whistling, hoping he would let go and leave, so I wouldn't have to intervene. But apparently, he couldn't even think properly with a bean instead of a brain where his brain should be.

Calling out Eun Hana with his left hand, he shouted at her, pulling her hair. Eun Hana, leaning her head back, was trying to free her hair from the girl's hand with both hands. The girl was already going to have short hair. The stupid, uncultured idiot was thinking of tearing off her hair. Plus, this girl was really ugly. I don't understand why he envied someone like her so much. Hmmm, I guess I know the reason for that. Lack of self-confidence and inferiority complex. Hah, a severe illness that every teenager experiences at a certain stage. It may not be a disease medically. But in my eyes, it's completely a disease.

While Eun Hana was trying to free her hair with both hands, the other girl raised her empty hand in the air to slap Eun Hana's face. What nonsense. Even though she heard my voice and saw me, she could still continue with violence.

"Misguided." I muttered and stopped her hand from coming down on Eun Hana's face. Eun Hana, with tear-stained eyes, looked at me pitifully. I rolled my eyes and grabbed her other hand from Eun Hana's hair. After holding both of the girl's hands with mine, I pushed her backwards, and she fell to the ground. Then I noticed she was trying to run towards me.

"I've been here for ten minutes. I recorded everything first, the sound, and just now, the hair-pulling incident. If you try to take a step or disrespect anyone again, I won't be the only one who has the video and audio recordings."

Before I could finish my sentence, she fell from where she was and made a mistake by raising her voice to me again.

"Whaaaaa! Who do you think you are to threaten me? Do you have any idea who I am? I'm the principal's daughter at this school. Do you think my dad will let this slide? Delete those recordings now! I said now, idiot!"

Normally, I shouldn't react like this in such situations. But since I got involved in this mess up to my neck, I thought I should give her what she deserved. After she finished her pea-brained sentence, I laughed out loud.

"Hahahahahahah! Really funny. I haven't laughed this much in a long time. Thank you, dear unjust daughter of the principal. I don't think even your father can save you from this incident. Do you know why? Because I recorded our conversation and the hair-pulling incident, and this time, I'll send it to national news channels instead of your father. Then your father won't have time to save himself, let alone you. You'll be expelled from school first. Then this incident of discipline and violence will stay on your record for life. Your father will lose his job, and his name will be marked with a red line. (It will be marked with a red line in terms of misconduct.) Besides-"

"Okay! Okay, enough! I, I, apologize, ughhh I apologize. Okay? I was rude. Eun Hana, I'm really sorry. Let's settle this between us, okay?"

Eun Hana didn't reply to the pea-brained girl. But turning to me, she said;

"I didn't choose volleyball. I had to enter it because I left my choice until the end. So it has nothing to do with Kang Doshik. Besides, Kang Doshik is a friend from kindergarten. There's nothing between us." She said.

I tilted my head to the right, thinking about what she was trying to say. And yes, I didn't understand what she said or what she was trying to do, and I grabbed Eun Hana by the arm and helped her up. I remembered I had to fill up my water bottle and quickly went with Eun Hana to the water fountain. After I filled my bottle, Eun Hana had also washed her face and eyes thoroughly with cold water. The pea-brained girl behind us had already left. I was planning to share the video anonymously on the school's official website in a few days. But Eun Hana told me not to do it until we went to the infirmary. I accepted without insisting. After all, although it wasn't my problem, I had already poked my nose enough. If my uncle heard about these incidents, it would have been bad for me anyway. After dropping Eun Hana off at the infirmary, I returned to the locker room

...

-Today-

At that time, just like now, she couldn't explain herself. Are you always going to stay silent, Eun Hana?
