"Captain Grubnash, aren't we already at the limit of the territory we have to cover?"
"Hush! Are you crazy? Have you forgotten that we are already on the territory of the jackals? If you feel like committing suicide, go ahead, but don't drag us with you. We will turn back at the next intersection, so I don't want to hear a single noise from you anymore, or I swear you'll be dinner tonight."
Grubnash whispered almost silently, but his followers could easily guess what he was saying. It was a group of 5 goblin patrollers who were also making their daily rounds.
("Damn it! Why was I assigned these two new idiots today? Weren't the other two I was dragging along enough? I risk my life every day, damn it.")
"Tsk!"
One day, I discovered that what I truly loved doing in life was reading novels, discovering new works, imagining new concepts to make a character I loved stronger, and, why not, creating my own character in a work and evolving them in my imagination. I would sometimes spend hours doing this without realizing it, with a smile on my face.
Unfortunately, as time passes, we grow older, and with that comes responsibilities. Especially being African, where society always frowns upon someone who, at a certain age, still maintains a passion they developed since adolescence. I can still hear them saying to me: "It's time for you to grow up, Alban."
So, I recently found myself having to choose between my passion for reading and my ever-burgeoning imagination, and my need to create a monthly income, even if it meant having to abandon my passion.
I ultimately decided to combine the two by creating my own original work: "The War of the Primals". It's still in its early stages, and I promise to do my best not to disappoint you.
So, even if it's a bit selfish of me, I would really appreciate it if you could help me get it known. A comment to let me know if you enjoy it would help me a lot, you have no idea.
As improving is also at the heart of my goals, I would also be delighted to read your constructive criticism.
Thank you very much, dear reader.
