My head pounds, and my body feels like I’ve been hit by a mac truck. Groaning, I pry my eyes open and find Nadia’s smiling face hovering over me.

“Good morning, sweetie,” she beams, reaching out and brushing my cheek. “I was beginning to wonder when you were going to wake up.”

“Ah, ah,” she counters, giving me a look of triumph. “You aren’t going to do anything except do exactly what I say and want.”

“Do what I want to keep your precious wife’s reputation from being destroyed,” she finishes for me.

Denali’s reputation destroyed. What the hell was she talking about? What happened while I was out?
