After the alliance with the elder dragons, life at the guild felt lighter, almost buoyant. There was a sense of relief and a renewed sense of purpose among us. Raven and I, having been through so much together, decided that it was finally time to take a day just for ourselves. No battles, no strategies—just a day to unwind and enjoy each other's company.
"Hey, Jade," Raven said one morning, her dark eyes glinting with mischief. "How about we get out of here for a bit? Just the two of us."
I looked up from the map I was studying, a smile spreading across my face. "I thought you'd never ask. Where do you want to go?"
She shrugged, a playful smile on her lips. "Anywhere away from plans and dragons. I was thinking of the lake. We haven't been there in ages."
The lake. Just the thought of it brought back memories of simpler times, before the Demon King and his relentless attacks. "Perfect," I agreed. "Let's go."
