Gramps paraded me around the buzzing hall, and my feet were killing me, but I didn't complain. I maintained my first-class smile through it all... until we reached a group of people. Dang, these ones were more hostile than the Wangs.

As we approached, I could feel the tension in the air, thick and suffocating. Gramps, seemingly oblivious, greeted them warmly. "Ah, Chenglong, my dear brother! It's been too long."

The man Gramps had addressed, Huang Chenglong, eyed me up and down with thinly veiled disdain. "Indeed, it has," he replied, his voice dripping with forced politeness. "And who is this young lady?"

Gramps beamed with pride, placing a hand on my shoulder. "This, my dear family, is my granddaughter, Huang Yanyan. Yanyan, meet your uncle, Chenglong, and his family."
