Bab 2: Chapter 2

Amber/Song Yanyan's POV:

"Missy, your Madam is requesting you join them for breakfast this instant," an annoying, irritated voice calls from outside the room.

I hesitate for a moment before replying, "Okay, I'm coming."

After a quick five-minute shower and throwing on a relatively tame blue dress from the closet, I take a look in the mirror. Gotta admit, this Yanyan girl has some curves in all the right places. Not that I'm complaining, but shedding a few pounds wouldn't hurt either.

Making my way out of the room, I'm stunned by just how massive and lavish this villa is. One perk of this whole body-swap situation is the ridiculous wealth that comes with it. Sure, I'm not usually one to get caught up in material things, but a girl can't help but dream of living large like this sometimes.

I navigate down the grand staircase, already panting by the time I reach the bottom. "This weight really has to go," I mutter under my breath.

Using Yanyan's memories, I find my way to the dining room, which is laden with enough food to feed a small country. Yet there are only five people seated there - Grandma Zhang Liang, Mom Chen Xinyi, little sister Song Yangyao, Uncle Song Hao, and his wife Liu Yanhong.

"What the hell took you so long, dragging your fat body down the stairs?" Ugh, there's that lovely little sister offering her usual warm greeting.

Mom gives me an annoyed look. "Sit down and eat, Yanyan. The food is getting cold."

"Well, you should've started without me," I reply with a nonchalant shrug, still getting used to this strange accent.

Grandma Zhang Liang chimes in with her own dose of disdain. "You eat like a pig. You would've cried if you had to go to school without breakfast."

Rather than engage further, I keep my head down and start eating, taking note of the heaping piles of unhealthy food surrounding my plate. Seems like they're actively encouraging this girl's weight gain.

I briefly consider snapping back at their rude comments, but quickly remind myself to pick my battles. No need to stir up more drama than necessary, at least for now. Once I've got a better handle on this situation, though? All bets are off - this new Yanyan isn't taking anybody's disrespect lying down.

After taking just a small portion of food, I pick up the glass of orange juice in front of me. But before I can even take a sip, a distinct smell hits my nose - one that I instantly recognize as the sickly scent of Prozac.

How do I know that smell so well? Let's just say my petite frame growing up led my grandma to force-feed me those meds for years, thinking they'd help me gain weight. Needless to say, they never worked, but the stench is burned into my brain.

As that telltale odor wafts up from the glass, it hits me - there's some serious foul play going on here. Someone is deliberately trying to make this poor Yanyan girl gain even more weight against her will.

My eyes immediately dart over to the smug look on Yangyao's face as I raise the glass. Oh, she's enjoying this way too much for it to be a coincidence. I've found my prime suspect.

Thinking quickly, I force a smile and say, "Can I eat in my room? I need to finish some homework before heading to school and change into my uniform."

Mom dismisses me with a wave. "Hurry up. I don't want to be called into school because you're late."

"I'll be done in a few minutes," I assure her, already rising from my seat and heading back upstairs, tray and glass in hand.

Once I'm back in the bedroom with the door safely locked, I pour the suspicious juice into an empty bottle to get it tested. If my hunch is right, that little brat Yangyao is going to learn the hard way that she messed with the wrong one.

The meek, pushover Yanyan is long gone. This new girl inhabiting her body isn't one to be trifled with. I'll get to the bottom of this weight gain scheme, and Yangyao will regret the day she decided to start playing these twisted games.

I quickly change into the school uniform, my mind already racing with how to handle this situation. One thing's for sure - payback is going to be a bitch.

As I head back downstairs with my backpack lazily slung over my shoulder, that little brat Yangyao looks me up and down with disdain. "You're such an embarrassment," she sneers.

"Oh really!" I chuckle, not even giving her the satisfaction of a real reaction as I make my way to the car. Yangyao has made it crystal clear she won't deign to ride with the "embarrassment" that is me, insisting we take separate cars to school.

My dad seems to be the only decent one in this messed up family, having tried countless times to get Yangyao to stop her incessant bullying. But as usual, his pleas fall on deaf ears with that one.

When we arrive at the ultra-posh private school, I can't help but be a little stunned. This place screams "elite society" with their lineup of luxurious cars and perfectly groomed students who were all born with silver spoons in their mouths.

The second I step out of the car, some jerky voice rings out "Fatty fatty!", prompting the entire crowd to erupt into laughter. I don't even need to look to know Yangyao and her mean girl posse are doubled over in the corner, cackling at my so-called "nickname."

Oh hell no, there's no way this former hood girl is taking that kind of disrespect lying down. Before the next taunt can leave that punk's mouth, I storm over and grab him by the throat, tightening my grip until his face turns from pale to ripe tomato red.

"What did you call me?" I snarl, staring dead into his suddenly terrified eyes as he shakes his head frantically. I tighten my hold even more, leaning in until we're inches apart. "Use your words, genius. I didn't quite catch that."

The kid opens and closes his mouth like a gasping fish, but no sound comes out under my viselike grip. Good, maybe now he'll learn to watch that smart mouth of his.

I give his scrawny neck one final squeeze before releasing him, letting the little punk crumple to the ground in a coughing, gasping heap as I straighten up and glare at the rest of the gawking crowd.

"Let that be a lesson to any of you nitwits who think you can run your mouths. The new Yanyan doesn't play that bullying bullshit," I warn, loud enough for everyone to hear. "Respect goes both ways in this school from now on. Don't dish it if you can't take it."

With that, I hitch my backpack up higher and storm off, leaving a wake of stunned silence in my path. The game just changed at this school, and the bullies are going to learn that the hard way if they don't wise up.
