Chapter 11: White Moon Earrings
"Whew, that was intense," Nova commented. "Good thing my speed stats are now outside of an average human; otherwise, I would have been stuck for the night in that Forest."
Away from Del Vapor Forest, Nova was walking, at the same time talking to himself, relieved, albeit with a sense of loss.
At the end of the ten minutes, since he stole the fire immunity, he had a feeling of loss, losing the warmth he felt inside his body.
'Well, at least I know it works very well.'
Now he was back in the wheat field again, walking and making his way through them.
"I've got my vision back," he declared, covering his right eye with his hand. It had already been more than five minutes, much longer, approximately 30 minutes. "System, explain what happened to the Moon Earrings, and use your voice, now I can't read in such darkness."
It was night now, the moon had already replaced the ever-bright Sun.
With the night came darkness and the wheat field curiously had not even a lantern of light that could minimally illuminate the place, making the once beautiful field now as if it were a terrifying mystery or horror movie.
Nova naturally didn't like to experience horror movies firsthand, so he was on high alert, looking around with every step he took, not even wanting to lose concentration by reading information from the item he just obtained.
Because of his paranoid actions, the journey from the wheat field towards the Capital City Moon, where he wanted to go, was now going to be ten times slower.
Ignoring his Player's acts of unbravery, the system explained:
[The Moon Earrings awakened by receiving The Player's blood as the key piece to their awakening, they are now: White Moon Earrings, improving their abilities and adding an extra passive].
"..." Nova processed the information silently, nodding with compression, though very inwardly surprised by the favorable development.
There were no White Moon Earrings in the game, at least not as far as he remembered them, even their item rank was unknown to him.
But always an improvement in stats and a new passive of an item is welcomed with open arms.
"System, for now, just tell me what the new passive of the new White Moon Earrings is?" asked Nova, curiosity taking over him more and more with each passing second.
He, a veteran of veterans, a gamer among gamers, didn't know which item was his favorite game. It was impossible, but now that was a reality.
To this, the curiosity to learn a new game item grew enormously, even under the guarded and paranoid situation of wariness in the wheat field.
The system, pursuing Nova's curiosity and his question, let out a slight, soft sigh, but soon regained its composure.
[The new item's passive, in a nutshell, is the ability to use lunar energy in small amounts to enhance your weapons, spells, and physical abilities], System explained.
At this explanation, Nova fell silent, walking through the wheat field. He had grown tired from all the running and his face had wounds and scratches from colliding when he was blinded.
Still, he frowned silently, thinking deeply about the possibilities.
"As I recall, the Moon Earrings give two passives," he continued. "The first is to give more compression and a higher learning ability to anyone who wears the earrings, the other is passive is that at night, all of the item's passives increase and also the wearer's physical stats, am I correct, right?"
At the question, Nova himself was expectant, he had searched and struggled, even came close to death. If he didn't have those two passives, it could be considered a total waste of time and effort.
This is because all of Nova's plans, at least in the short term, have as their main tool his unique ability, and the Earrings, which can work in tandem to make Nova's strength and power even more devastating.
The increased learning and understanding, plus the power to copy abilities, means that the one weakness of the copy ability is eliminated, which is, the little understanding or learning the user has when copying the ability.
With greater understanding and learning, all of this would at least be largely eliminated, but all of this would be tested at some future date. I am not going far.
To the question, the system, took several seconds to respond, probably reading the item information again to confirm, before answering.
[Yes, those are the two passives of the item, now I added one more which is the one I named above, plus five points of now ten points of stats in intelligence and thirty in mana stats].
The system's statement left Leiden smiling broadly, to say he was satisfied, was an understatement with what he was feeling now.
He'd won a bargain!
The lottery!
He knew it, that's why he couldn't hide his smile, it wasn't like he cared either, after all there wasn't the slightest soul currently in the wheat field.
"Ha ha ha ha, with that all my planes are going to be easier," Nova's smile widened, as he laughed softly. "Now being recruited by Eclipse Organization wouldn't be crazy."
Being in a good mood, Nova's wariness dropped considerably, now running at high speeds to where he remembered the Lunar Capital to be, through his memories of the game.
"System," he called, "When we get to the Capital, we need to talk calmly, I need to know more about you, I have almost no information."
[Okay, player]. Agreed the system.
Nova felt he knew everything, but at the same time absolutely nothing about the system, he already had an idea of how it worked, worse he wanted to confirm his suspicions.
But he could not speed things up, he would have to go slowly and carefully, the priority was to have one foot in the Capital.
So, Nova kept running at high speeds until he reached his destination.
