The sun had barely risen, casting a soft, golden light over the forest. Perched on the edge of a cliff, Jacin and Jade sat side by side, their legs dangling over the precipice. Below them, the forest stretched out in all directions, a sea of green broken only by the occasional clearing. The morning air was crisp and cool, and for a moment, the two cousins enjoyed the tranquil beauty of the scene.
Jade broke the silence first, glancing sideways at Jacin. "You know, we've been through a lot together, but I realize I don't know much about you. We're cousins and teammates, yet I feel like there's so much more I should know."
Jacin looked at Jade, a faint smile playing on her lips. "I was thinking the same thing. We should take this chance to get to know each other better."
Jade nodded, her expression serious. "I've always wondered how you managed to survive in the wilderness. The beasts and monsters out there... it must have been terrifying."
