Jace took a deep breath, trying to calm his rising anger. "We need your communication devices to contact someone in the United Republic. It's a matter of great importance."

Jareth leaned forward, feigning interest. "Oh, the United Republic, you say? Such a grand and powerful nation. And you think a simple device will bridge the gap between you and them?" He chuckled, a patronizing sound that made Jace's skin crawl. "What makes you think I would just hand over something so valuable?"

Jace's fists clenched tighter, his knuckles turning white. "It's not about the device itself. It's about what we can achieve together. We have information and resources that could be beneficial for both sides."
