While Jessica's message became loud and clear to the crowd that she was not a simple receptionist, Xu Feng could only smile bitterly beneath his mask.

From the surface, it might seem like Jessica was protecting him.

After all, she only made a move once someone went ahead and attempted to assassinate him.

However, Xu Feng knew that Jessica didn't simply just want to protect him. 

She wanted to use this incident as an excuse and leverage to showcase her power, sending fear to these earlier complainers.

Within the rules of the Adventure Association, she was to remain polite to them because they were adventurers working for commissions whereas she was there to support and assist them.

Thus, she could not retaliate and smile amidst their numerous complaints and demands.

'That assassin is really a fool to pick a fight here and not wait until I'm outside.' Xu Feng sighed softly.
