The jackal piloted by Anubis appeared in front of the pharaoh's palace, its golden imperial guard color with the imperial guard captain's Ank symbol painted in silver on its chest. It was a symbol of status and power.

It was a mecha that only a hero worthy of the highest laurels could carry. The duel was being televised, and for the punished people of the empire to see that mecha was to see the power of their nation.

Seth also used a jackal-type mecha. He deactivated his cloaking systems when he was at the other end of the avenue, right between the two monoliths. His black and red colors, typical of the commanders of the pirate fleet, gave him a sinister, even evil, contrast compared to his opponent in the eyes of the public.
