Chapter 62: Forest! Laser! Gravity!
The green cow suddenly transformed into a large tree, its body became a thick trunk with its face etched upon it, and its head turned into dense branches. Ignoring the scorching heat beneath his feet, he inserted the roots that had emerged from his feet deep into the ground, anchoring himself firmly. His face twisted into an expression of pain, yet he gritted his teeth and persevered. Influenced by his ability, the still-hot magma began to cool quickly, solidifying into earth and stone. Then, copious amounts of green grass and flowers sprouted, filling the entire G5 branch with circles of blooming flora.
The vines that had turned into fingers on his hands also began to grow and stretch out from his body. Through continuous proliferation across the land, they became a dozen tree whips that lashed toward Kaido. "What the hell," muttered Kaido. He was about to snap the branches with a stick when a lewd voice called out, "Look here~ Kaido-san~." Kaido followed the sound only to see two laser beams burst forth from Kizaru's fingertips, striking his chest instantly. The impact caused a massive explosion, engulfing Kaido in billowing smoke.
The explosion's resulting air currents made their coats dance, but Kaido's breath remained undisturbed. Fujitora tilted his head, swiftly twitched his arm, and launched a knife downward. A Slash Wave flew into the smoke, cleaving it in two and revealing Kaido's unharmed figure. The Slash Wave hit Kaido's body but dispersed as if water on stone, shattering and vanishing. "So hard!" thought Aramaki.
With the aid of his companions and the distraction they provided, he let his vines continue to spread until he could touch Kaido directly. "Suck him dry for me!!" Aramaki exclaimed with a wide, unstoppable smile. However, when the green vine tried to pierce Kaido like a straw, it was blocked.
Aramaki's esteemed ability to absorb human nutrition failed against Kaido. The Green Bull was taken aback. "You'd be great at selling diet tea," Kaido sneered, his body coated in Armament Haki. He shook off the vines, shattering Aramaki's fingers. The green bull cried out in pain, his hands recoiling from the shock. At the same time, he felt humiliated and enraged by Kaido's taunt.
"Hey~ Can you look here for a moment~," called Kizaru, who had leapt into the sky, shining brightly. "Eight-foot Jade," he declared as countless dazzling laser projectiles rained from him, forming a chain of light with each shot precisely aimed at Kaido. Kaido mused that when Kizaru had fought his teacher, Zephyr, his aim had been flawless, yet he had missed Luffy during the Summit War.
Nevertheless, he was not inclined to dodge. He let the laser barrage pummel his body. A series of explosions followed. Kaido endured Kizaru's minor attack and gathered flames in his mouth, targeting the barren pasture. "Boro Breath!" he bellowed, knowing that a Tree Tree fruit user like Aramaki feared flames above all else. Kaido unleashed a pillar of fire towards the green bull, who reacted by frantically manipulating the trees to grow a protective barrier in front of him.
"Firebreak!" Suddenly, a forest full of highly flame-resistant trees sprang up in front of him. But this was Kaido's fire! His so-called fire forest was instantly incinerated, and a powerful pillar of fire surged toward the green bull, Aramaki, without losing any strength.
Aramaki's heart skipped a beat, and his eyes opened wide in fear as the fiery column approached. But then the ground beneath his feet began to rise. Roots that had burrowed into the earth lifted him to safety. The fire pillar passed through, charring only the dense network of roots sprouting in the wilderness, before smashing into distant ruins and causing a massive explosion.
Aramaki, drenched in cold sweat from fright, looked down at the ground and then turned to Fujitora to express his gratitude.
"Thank you! Dude!" he exclaimed.
"Don't get in the way," Fujitora replied, setting Aramaki down with his sword. "Be careful—this is the strongest creature in the world today."
"Ah, understood!" Aramaki responded earnestly.
Kaido, seeing his attack neutralized by Fujitora, furrowed his brow but also seemed intrigued. "King Kong Dysprosium," he declared, then swung his metal club behind him. A formidable aura emanated from him, annihilating numerous laser projectiles as it flew toward Kizaru in the sky.
"Yo," Kizaru said casually as he watched the shockwave approach, ceasing his attack. He transformed into a streak of light and dodged to the side.
Kaido then forcefully launched himself off the ground, flying toward Fujitora. Fujitora sensed Kaido's approach through sight and smell, and immediately activated his gravity fruit ability, trying to pull Kaido to the ground. However, Kaido, now capable of flight, shrugged off the pressure and continued his advance. Fujitora stood still, but as Kaido got closer, the ground beneath Kaido dented more and more, drawing a long trail. The gravity was so intense it disturbed the water beneath the island.
Despite the extreme gravity slowing Kaido down, he quickly closed the gap between himself and Fujitora. Clutching his mace, imbued with both Lightning and Conqueror's Haki, Kaido swung his arms. "Eight Trigrams!" he shouted.
Fujitora's sword, also enhanced with the power of gravity, was poised to counter Kaido's strike. "Gravity Tiger," Fujitora announced.
The impact was enormous. Fujitora could barely resist for half a second before being overpowered by Kaido's incredible strength. His arms trembled, his mouth bled, and he was sent flying out of the battlefield.
Kaido, meanwhile, felt disoriented from the side effects of the gravity but pressed on. 'Gravity... It's a formidable fruit,' he thought.
The other two Admirals, however, weren't just standing by. Kizaru had summoned his Sky Cong Cloud Sword made of lasers and, despite the gravity, leaped toward Kaido. With the lightsaber in his hand, Kizaru aimed a bright slash at Kaido's neck, intent on beheading him.
Meanwhile, numerous giant trees sprouted from the clearing, their trunk-like fists hammering down at Kaido. And suddenly, amidst this onslaught, an overwhelming presence filled the sky. Kaido looked up to see a massive, fiery meteor descending upon him!
Surrounded by the attacks of three Admirals, Kaido seemed trapped with no possibility of escape.
