Maybe it was the fact that Rye, having realized that Klas had some use for her, was more fully convinced that he wouldn't hurt her.

It was the only excuse she could think of for why she reacted the way she did after she saw Klas stretch out his bloody hand toward her, almost like she was Red.

"What do you expect me to suck it out of you?" Rye asked with an incredulous expression that matched her words.

"Would you have preferred I pour it into a cup before handing it to you to drink?" Klas responded with a big scowl on his face as he watched drops of his blood slowly fall to the ground, wasted.

For a couple of more seconds, Rye stared at his hand before she finally steeled her nerves and lowered her mouth straight to the slash wound Klas made.

Sucking at it as fast as she could, without putting much thought into it.
