Bab 175: Foray

'I need to boost my Agility...' thought Will, closing his eyes to better focus on his remaining senses.

"Well, that's bold of you...closing your eyes in the middle of a match..." remarked Anise, appearing behind and to Will's left but wisely staying outside the range of his spear.

"Sometimes, you need to close your eyes to see things clearly..." asserted Will, orienting his head in the opposite direction. Anise's voice emanated from behind him, but he could feel her gaze and intent from what his eyes would have told him was empty space.

"So you've already seen through my rapier's special ability...that's quite the feat for someone your age..." remarked Anise, the version of her that was behind Will fading as her actual self appeared where he was staring, albeit with his eyes closed.

"Are we finished here...?" asked Will, tilting his head slightly as Anise no longer gave the impression she was going to attack.
