Bab 14: Who is the devil? Cap 14
Inside apartment 42B was an adult woman, along with some children, peering through the door at the events.
"What's going on, is the demon facing someone? Did he really feel afraid of something else?"
Beth thought, fearful of facing some more powerful or evil being.
"If it is someone else, this could be my only chance of escaping with the children."
Making a clear decision, she felt it would be her only chance of getting out of the hell she was living in.
Gathering all the children by the door, she prepared to try and fight for her life.
Picking up a large kitchen knife, she trembled intensely in her hand, showing her fear despite her courage.
After hearing some sounds of fighting and a brief silence, she gathered her remaining strength and opened all the locks, kicking the door in after a few seconds of hesitation.
"I am death!"
That's what Beth heard before she was confronted with a sight she would never forget, a tall, handsome young man who was covered in blood.
In his hands were two huge black knives, drops of blood dripping from the blade, creating a thick red puddle on the floor.
An almost palpable murderous intent permeated the corridor, blurring the only remaining light.
Beth could swear that a dark shadow lingered at the young man's feet, stretching endlessly, causing fear and dread.
Coming to momentarily, she spotted what must have been the demon that tormented everyone in the building in the corner of the corridor, a strange look of dread permeating his face.
"Who are you? A demon too?"
Beth asked with her voice trembling, she knew that the young man in front of her was the source of the demon's fear.
"I'm a person responsible for killing insects, the one in front of you is one of them..."
The young man replied in a cold voice, sending shivers through Beth's body.
Beth wondered which of them was the real demon, strangely the young man caused more fear than a being from hell, fortunately he didn't seem to have any interest in them.
"I'm leaving the building, thank you so much for saving us!"
Beth walked quickly with the children towards the exit, she was afraid to spend another second in this hellish environment.
After Beth left, the focus returned to the demon, who was now on the ground gnashing his teeth in rage.
"Now that the audience has left, what do you say I send you to hell?"
Henrique walked slowly, his face covered in coldness, prepared to finish this mission.
"Damned human, even if I consume my being I will KILL you!"
Seeing the slowly approaching being containing murderous intent, the demon decided to consume its life force, managing to use powers not accessed in the human realm.
With a slight tremor from the building, an invisible force condensed around him, bringing his body into the air.
He levitated with his arms open, emitting a feeling of power previously lost to humiliating defeat.
"I have consumed all my existing life force to use my power on you, but after consuming your soul, I will recover!"
The demon returned to his arrogance and flashed a fearsome smile, watching the expression of the human in front of him, expecting fear on his face.
"You've really gotten stronger, being able to unlock telekinesis... congratulations, too bad in my world every middle-class demon has it!"
I replied with a cold smile, just this increase in power wouldn't make him despair....
Readying my blades to attack again, I activated my charge, accelerating at the same time as summoning a special shotgun.
In the world of Supernatural, demons were vulnerable to special bullets, perhaps in this world it would be the same.
Focusing my attention, I aimed at the demon and fired. To my surprise, the bullet stopped in midair about five centimeters from its head.
Without losing momentum, I kept circling like a shadow around the demon, who kept in the air, stopping all my bullets with telekinesis.
"Annoying power, but I doubt you'll be able to keep it up for long!"
I exclaimed, taking more bullets from my inventory and reloading the gun.
"I can hold enough to dry your blood and suck your soul!"
The demon replied with a serious tone, totally different from his previous personality, raising his hand as an impulse rushed towards Henry.
Seeming to sense the invisible threat, Henrique leapt towards the wall performing several dodges, jumping from side to side with superhuman agility.
"This way I'll end up exhausting my strength, without being able to overcome his psychic barrier..."
I thought looking for viable solutions, I could simply try to wait for the demon's state to end, but it would be a contest of endurance that I didn't want to have.
I soon realized that I had twenty attribute points, which I had saved for emergencies.
I had a great advantage in speed, deflecting and sensing telekinetic attacks, unfortunately I lacked the strength to break through its barrier.
Quickly opting to add twenty stat points to strength, I felt an energy rush through my body, feeling capable of killing a bull with one punch.
Breaking out of this state, I peeked at the demon who was in the air preparing what seemed to be a one-dimensional blow in my direction, blocking my dodging space.
I summoned a large metal lid, holding it tightly in an attempt to hold back the invisible force that was slowly pushing my body backwards.
My feet formed ravines on the floor, being dragged several meters, fortunately my strength was equal to five adults, managing to stand up with due happiness.
"HOW DID YOU GET STRONGER???"
The demon shouted in shock, his voice resounding throughout the place, he couldn't believe that a human could resist his telekinetic power, even in hell that was rare.
But to his surprise, he just gave a mocking smile, shooting off like an arrow from a string.
The demon, foreseeing the danger, formed a telekinetic barrier around him, watching the ferocious advance.
"Strengthen"
Using all my strength, I launch the most powerful blow of my life, all my resistance drained and transformed into red energy.
A large metal sledgehammer, covered in red energy, descends towards the demon's head, breaking through its barrier like paper in the face of power.
His mouth opens in an attempt to make a sound, but all he gets is a devastating force that makes a mess of his head before he is thrown to the ground.
BOOMMM
A huge grenade-like sound resounded through the room, accompanied by an explosion that cracked the floor of the corridor, almost destroying it.
The blow dyed the entire corridor in blood, and a headless, sludge-like body now lay on the floor.
The puree-like flesh squirmed as if it were alive, causing a disgusting and frightening sensation.
Next to the sludge of flesh was what appeared to be a person, completely covered in blood and unknown remains inhabiting his clothes.
Standing with a sledgehammer dyed red in his left hand, a portrait of a horror villain, his brow furrowed as he looked at the crumpled remains of flesh moving about.
"Really tenacious, even after turning into mashed meat it didn't die... but I have a way"
Henrique decided to set fire to the demon's remains, taking the opportunity to set fire to the entire floor.
There was too much blood and scattered pieces to be recognizable. After everything had turned to dust and smoke, he put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
Entering Ellie's apartment, he looked at the book of the dead, keeping it in his inventory just in case.

Henrique was confused about the existence of hidden missions, but soon realized that it must be because he had changed a few things.
It never happened that the demon faithful to the story consumed his life to use all his strength on earth, maybe it's changing things that didn't happen in the movies.
"With all these rewards, I'm getting closer to being able to buy the super soldier serum."
