The party secretary and the brigade leader had other matters to attend to, so they left the cart behind and took their leave, telling Luo Qiao that she could just return the cart to the brigade headquarters after using it.

Luo Qiao thanked them and saw them out the door before coming back.

She said, "Please have a seat in the courtyard for a while, I'll go prepare some things for you."
