Parked discreetly some distance away from Julian's house, a car sat cloaked in shadow. Inside, Maximillian tapped a restless rhythm on the dashboard, his gaze fixed like a predator's on Julian's front door. The silence was broken only by the soft whir of the car's internal systems and the steady thrum of his own unease.

"Max, would you care for a cup of black coffee?" The soothing female android voice offered from the dashboard.

"No, thank you," came Maximillian's curt reply. Alone the sight of Julian covered in blood just now was enough to keep him awake the entire night.
