Bab 37: Dealing with Thugs

Harper Martinez looked at Ava Sterling, her jaw clenched tightly. "I grew up in a single-parent family. My mother passed away from an illness when I was very young, and my father turned to alcohol. Whenever he drank, he'd take his anger out on me. I thought I had escaped that life when I moved away from our small town. But after a few peaceful years, he suddenly reappeared in my life, and I couldn't avoid him. Recently, he accumulated a huge debt at a casino, and now, those casino goons are hounding me for repayment. He claims that as his daughter, I'm obligated to settle his debts. Harper Martinez covered her face with her hands, sobbing quietly, "All I wanted was a peaceful life. The thing I regret most in this world is being his daughter. I wish he were dead, do you understand? I detest him so much!"
