As we took off from Draego, Maxwell's grip tightened around me, his wings unfurling with a sudden rush of wind. It was my first time seeing him like this—fully shifted, his vampire speed blended with the power of his wings. We were soaring, flying faster than I could comprehend. The speed would have made anyone nauseous, but Maxwell merged our minds, a sensation I had not fully experienced before. It was grounding, making my body stable even as we hurtled through the sky towards Iona.

" We need to think ahead and plan accordingly. I was full of worry and felt that Maxwell's voice echoed in my mind.
