Bab 171: Stay

Bel should pull her head back, she knew this. She didn't want it to work, but day by day, the reason she was so averse to it was starting to blur. She felt his lips settle on her forehead before he pulled away and looked at her with a hint of a smile on his lips.

"What do you say?" he asked.

Bel turned away from him. "I don't know," she replied.

"That's better than no, I'll take it."

"I still want to leave when you said I can," she said but didn't look at his face.

"I won't stop you," he replied. "But we still have some time before then, and if I do change your mind, don't fight me because you hate losing. Don't leave when you want to stay. That's all."

"I don't want to stay," she said stubbornly.

"Right now, yes, and that's fine. But when the two months come to an end and you think I am bearable as a husband, stay! Promise me you will," he said.

She still refused to look at him. "Fine," she mumbled.
