Bab 121: A Favor

"Queen Alana," Bel called out in genuine surprise. She certainly didn't expect to run into any of the Royal Family members, let alone the Queen. "Good morning," she said, bending her knees as she paid her respects. Giselle, who was behind her, dropped to the floor and remained in that position.

"Bel," the Queen said casually, carefully walking to her as she stood to her full height once again.

The Queen was surrounded by guards and servants whom Bel could count on one hand. Queen Alana's petite frame stood in their midst. The sides of her small face were hidden in the cascade of her long black hair. Her eyes held conviction as she stared at Bel, and for a second, Bel's stomach knotted.

"Did you sleep well, my child?" the Queen asked as she stopped directly in front of Bel.
