Bab 109: Family Talks

"What about your family?" Bel asked.

Mallory shook her head. "You?" she asked.

"I have my sister and my parents," she replied. "My sister's name is Hazel. She is the eldest. Were you an only child?" Bel asked.

Mallory nodded.

"Mother?" she asked.

"Dead," Mallory said.

"Oh my goodness, I am so sorry."

Mallory shrugged and touched the Blood Gem on her neck. "No problem."

"Father?" she asked.

"Don't know," Mallory shrugged again. She pointed to Bel and said, "From?"

"Where am I from?" she asked.

Mallory nodded.

"The Kingdom of Landerfell," she said. "It's a country outside. It's not too far from Darkcrypt, technically."

"What's it like?" she asked.

"It's pretty big," Bel explained. "Sunny," she chuckled. "Maybe someday you can go with me."

Her eyes darted to the left and the right. "Don't know."
