Chapter 10: Costume
" I'm sure that All Might briefed you all on the upcoming battle trial, even if you weren't listening. Like Ricolo who is sleeping, you would know the test starts tomorrow, so please get ready to design your hero costumes. "
As soon as Eraser Head said this the eyes of all the students started to sparkle especially Midoriya, who instantly pulled out a piece of paper and pen. And started to scribble down designs of his hero costume, counting for every detail. Seeing Deku's writing down, the other students quickly followed, writing on a piece of paper.
The sound of writing rippled through the classroom, the sound was so loud that even Ricolo woke up from sleep, and started to look around the class confused before he asked a black-haired woman a question in a soft voice.
" Hey? What are we doing? " The woman's ears twitched, hearing the question. However, she didn't answer instead she focused on designing her hero costume, seeing this, Ricolo smacked his lips annoyed before he glanced around the classroom, locking eyes with Eraser Head smiling at him.
Seeing Eraser Head smile, Ricolo instantly knew that Eraser Head wasn't going to help him, so instead of panicking and looking around the class like an idiot, Ricolo crossed his arms and leaned further back in his desk, before peacefully closing his eyes. To him, there was no need to stress...
Ricolo quickly fell into a deep sleep, his mind was clear. His peaceful sleep would last the entire class until a sudden bell rang, making him jolt out of his desk. He rubbed his eyes still in a slight daze, as the other students slowly stood up from their desks. The students started to leave the class turning in a piece of paper at the door, right before they left.
One by one all of the students left, except Midoriya who was oddly still seated at his desk, Ricolo stared at Deku confused before he stretched and stood up from his chair, Ricolo walked past Deku until suddenly he spoke.
" Hey! Umm, since you were sleeping, you didn't know we designing our hero costumes, and I know you asked Momo and she didn't tell you. S-So, I decided to make your hero costume for you... " After Deku said this, he reached out his arm, handing a piece of paper to Ricolo who quickly grabbed it.
On the piece of paper, was a detailed illustration of Ricolo wearing a pure black outfit with a dark red vest, the hero's costume was plain with little to no detail. Ricolo stared at the design before a grin crept on his face and he spoke to Deku, still staring at it.
" It looks nice. Thank you, I owe you one. " Deku nodded his head with sweat pouring down his face until Ricolo locked eyes with Deku and spoke.
" If you don't mind me asking... Why do you sweat so much? "
" Oh. W-Well don't take this the wrong way, but your eyes are kind of creepy. N-Not that they look weird but every time I look at you, my body becomes afraid. " Said Deku holding up his hands. Ricolo scoffed at Deku's comment before a grin appeared on his face and he responded.
" Then you've got pretty good senses, but did they announce the teams for the upcoming battle trial or will they tell us right before it? " Deku quickly shrugged his shoulders, while he stood up from his desk, and grabbed onto his backpack.
Deku stood next to Ricolo before he cleared his voice and asked him a question.
" Do you really want to become a hero? Because you don't really act like it. " A confused look appeared on Ricolo's face before he responded.
" What do you mean? "
" Well every time we're in class your sleeping, or ignoring what Eraser Head is saying, and quite frantically, I think Eraser Head might kick- "
" Kick me out of the class? Yeah, I thought about it. But I'm not really worried about it. If I can just pass the tests with flying colors and just cheat during the exams. They won't be able to get rid of me. And to answer your other question, I don't know really. " Said Ricolo cutting off Deku, Deku stared at Ricolo confused, but before he could ask another question, Ricolo spoke while waving his hand.
" I'll see you at the battle trial tomorrow, and good luck, during it. "...
