Only once they started spilling the beans did Gray suddenly rise up, stopping his struggles completely and giving them a meaningful smile. "So that's how it is, eh? Understandable!"

That's when they realized he had been acting since the very start! That was one silly job. So basically, both the client and the target had just been playing along?
