Trial? Who cared about that? She was back, fine, and had won against her inner demons! Relief washed over him. He was simply so fucking glad to see her. 

"Teacher, I've returned!" 

"Yes! Yes, you have… Sera!" 

And as their gaze met, she seemingly changed. Demonic Gaze? It turned to blue clear eyes full of hope, and so was the Mana overflowing from her body. 

Pitch black Demonic Mana? → Blue-fire-like Purified Demonic Mana?! 

But that sweet gaze of hers only applied to Gray! As soon as she turned back to the crowd, and especially the Judge, all that was demonic about her came back as a wave!
