After asking this question, Lan Jin glanced at her old companion.
Despite just waking up, she still exuded an air of authority.
"Ah Huo, did you say something harsh to Ann?"
"How could I bear to?"
Qin Huo felt unjustly accused, innocent to the core.
"Little Jin, you've started blaming me as soon as you woke up. It truly saddens me."
Lan Jin helplessly remarked, "Stop being petty. You're already so old."
She then turned her gaze towards Ann, her eyes and voice softening.
"Ann, what's the matter?"
Qin Sui'an shook her little head and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.
"Grandmother, Ann didn't cry."
Her eyes were just slightly reddened, not yet on the verge of tears.
"Good girl, don't worry about Grandmother. I'm fine," Lan Jin said as she propped herself up from the bed.
"Oh my, my old bones creak with every movement."
"Be careful, please be careful," Qin Huo exclaimed in alarm, quickly assisting her and then calling out from the bedroom, "Dr. Han!"
