Bab 47: The Heart of Haven Falls

The Master Smith looked into Kai's eyes and then slowly shifted to Zero's.

Zero saw a deep sadness behind his eyes - someone who had long since given up. He had seen those same eyes in the mirror during his previous life many times before. The Master Smith then went back to hammering away without another word.

"Are you not tired of living under the Vipers?!" Kai said louder this time. "We can help you!"

"Are you not Vipers yourselves?" The Master Smith said in a gruff voice without stopping his work this time.

"No, we're only letting them think that. We want to help this town, help YOU. But for that to work we need your help. We need you and your blade."

"Hmph. I will not risk the lives of these people on a whim just because you have fool hardy aspirations, player." He responded. "Now go away before you get us all in trouble."

Kai seemed taken back by the lack of motivation from the Master Smith.
