Meanwhile, back in Ebodia, Atlas shared the good news with Ezme that Ezekiel had granted him a vacation.

"We can stay longer in Valcrez if you want. I'm sure you miss your family and your home," Atlas commented, peppering her with kisses. They had just finished making love, but Atlas was far from sated.

"You're already my home," Ezme replied with a mischievous grin. Her words sent a flutter through Atlas's heart, a sensation he was becoming increasingly familiar with. Ezme had been very vocal about her feelings, and her declarations were starting to affect him deeply.

He raised his head to look closely at her beautiful face. Ezme was the perfect partner for him. Though they were opposites in many ways, they complemented each other perfectly.

"I love you," she murmured, moving on top of him. Atlas propped himself up against the headboard, letting her take control. He loved it when she took the lead in their lovemaking.
