Bab 43: She Is a Pitiful Child

When Seraphina got home that evening, Linden immediately checked her lunch box.

It was... empty?

He had made a lot, nearly three times her usual portion. Astonished, Linden asked, "Did you eat all this? Or did you throw it away?"

Seraphina rubbed her eyes, leaning against him, "Shared and ate it with colleagues."

"People you work with?" Linden's eyes gleamed with joy as he looked down at her, "Your friends?"

"Friends... I guess so."

Linden, wagging his tail, suggested, "Then what does your friend like to eat? I can prepare some more, have her bring her own lunch box next time? Let her bring it to you and you bring it home, I can just pack the food directly into her box."

Linden was pleased that Seraphina had companionship at work.

"Forget about her," Seraphina muttered, "You can only cook for me." She wrapped her arms around his waist, burying herself in his embrace, muffled, "You're mine."
